Farmgate Restaurant is proud to support the local artists of Nowra and the greater Shoalhaven and so thankful that we have such beautiful, talented artworks to decorate our walls. Guests enjoy the regularly changing artworks and many have bought works to enjoy in their home, office or as gifts for loved ones. Artworks change approx. 4-5 weeks. The whole price goes to the artist.

Michael Davey is a multi-award-winning landscape photographer, bestselling author, speaker and adventurer. His ‘Landscapes of the Shoalhaven’ exhibition at Farmgate Restaurant captures the stunning Shoalhaven region. From Seven Mile Beach in the north, to Cudmirrah Beach in the south, the display showcases the grandeur of the South Coast. There is one photograph which is not Shoalhaven but is in the exhibition as it is in Michael’s book, Journey of Charity—The Photographic Odyssey, which is for sale in the restaurant. Can you guess where the image was taken? Hint: SA. Michael will also have his bestselling memoir Journey of Hope for sale, along with greeting cards and postcards.
A portion of the proceeds of the sale of items will be used to raise funds for suicide prevention.
Michael has ridden around and across Australia nine times, a total distance of almost 100,000 kilometres and is just short of a quarter-of-a-million dollars raised for charity, which included funds for suicide prevention. He rides in a Where’s Wally costume to inspire people to seek professional help rather than hiding in plain sight when suffering a mental illness. His rides around Australia were on a pushbike, postie bike, pedal assist pushbike and adventure bike, taking 165, forty-six, eighty and twenty-eight days, respectively. He has also ridden the Oodnadatta Track in Central Australia and the Savannah Way in remote far-north Tropical Queensland.
